Adding Music To Website?

Category: FAQ   Time: 2009-12-11   Tags: , ,

I know precious little about building a website, but am working on my third thanks to templates and such on Website Tonight through GoDaddy. On this one, however, I would like to have a song playing when someone visits my homepage. How can I add music to my website?

This should be an MP3 file.
In HTML, use the EMBED command. The code is very easy.
First, upload your MP3 file. The file name should not have any spaces or other characters, just letters and numbers. Something like MyMusic.mp3
Then add this HTML code to your website.
    My Music
    Good luck

Well, you could do it all in code, but I’m sure you don’t know a bit about that.
If you REALLY want music, you may e-mail me and ask if you can get a flash file with your song of choice in it. I’ll put it in my music button template, and try and make it compatible with a lot of PCs by exporting as Flash 6.
If your template builder thing doesn’t let you post up .SWFs (find out first) then don’t bother.

I wouldn’t recommend it. It seems like a good idea but it is annoying. I hate sites that have sound.
At the very least if you add sound set it so the ESC key stops it.
Waking babies or disturbing your spouses TV with unexpected music isn’t good.
