I’m looking for a new domain registrar – I’m trying to transfer some existing domains as well. I’ve looked at godaddy (seems very spamy) – good pricing but the website is a mess, and I’ve looked at register.com – which looks better but is ridiculously expensive. Any other suggestions?

I have been with Godaddy for a few years, no problems. Transfered there from elsewhere who promised me a better rate then upped it again. Yeah, they are tacky and try to load you up with extras, but that can be ignored.
godaddy is good, but the user interface is not unify with the rest of services providers.
there are some good hosting like hostgators, netfirm, anhosting, bluehost. which are US based and doing business for years.
I like http://www.123-reg.co.uk
They have reasonable prices and have always worked well for me for the past 6+ years.
