Hi.
I’m currently using Bravehost, which gives me a domain& free webhosting for a year for about nine dollars. But I’m really annoyed at the ads.
I found out GoDaddy gives me no ads, but then you have to pay for hosting.
I want something that:
1. Allows me to upload site from my computer
2. Gives me free or very low webhosting
3. Gives me no ads
4. Not too high of a yearly fee for domain
If that’s impossible, just give me your best suggestion. Thanks!

Begin with setting up your own webpage as your current internet provider will provide free hosting as discussed below.
If you are currently a paid Internet subscriber, you are entitled to a “homepage” which often contains simple navigation and editing tools. And if you use the Netscape browser, the built-in Composer feature is a superior HTML authoring tool which is totally free. You can easily generate a full-blown website as a Homepage.
Nevertheless, the “homepage” URL is likely to be “http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscribe… name” and that URL can easily be overwritten via a redirection service, i.e., “mydomain.com” which allows you to link any registered domain name to “mask” another website. For example, should you type in the “domain name,” you will be immediately transported to the homepage and the hompage URL of http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber… a homepage URL which will be masked by the domain name. And the charge for the redirection service [even at godaddy.com] is normally FREE.
When you acquire a domain name, connect it using a redirection service [as discussed above] and submit/publish the domain name on major search engines/directories in order for Net surfers to find your website.
Good luck!
There are many ad free hosting sites. You can get a domain for $1.89 for 1 year at http://nkuw.com
I offer domains from as little as £2.99, and i can also create a custom hosting plan for you so that it can fit your budget.
I don’t actively advertise the custom hosting, so please contact me by email at sales@chameleonwebhosting.com if you’re interested.
When shopping, be sure to look for the “extras” and “choices”. Can you choose Micosoft or Linux? Can you have databases? Can you have multiple names for the same hosted site? My experience is that the cheapies, located in the garage behind the tire stack, don’t offer much and after your site gets bigger and you get more sophisticated, you will outgrow them. I personally like GoDaddy because the price is low and they have absolutely everything you need. Everything.
And, some advice. Go with a Linux offering. Many more choices of support stuff. Microsoft hosts only offer Microsoft accesssories, so the popular server-side support of PHP and the popular MySQL data bases are not available.
drop the “free” requirement, spend a few bucks and you’ll be set. It’s worth it. Free is dumb because no one will support you when you have questions. Plus, forced ads suck.
I host several websites, I’ll recommend a couple hosts that are OK.
For what you want: icdsoft.com, dreamhost.com, siteground.com or site5.com would work.
plan on spending at least 5 bucks a month on the site.
If you just want free, go with google pages, pbwiki, or wikispaces.com

As the economists like to say, there’s no such thing as a free lunch. With the “free” web hosts, the ads are how you pay for it. There are some very cheap web hosting companies. Here’s one:http://www.edatarack.com/hosting.html
If I were you, I would totally go with Yahoo. The only way you can get “free hosting” is if you buy a server or if you have a friend that has a server. They could then help you set it up, but you would have to buy the program. Either way, a server can cost several hundred dollars, and a website program can cost several hundred dollars.
With Yahoo, the fee is $12 a month and you get all of the benefits that comes with it. This includes Pay Per Click credits (usually $50 a year), the benefit of being listed with Yahoo and their search engine, free software to set up the program yourself, it is fully capable of uploading from another site to your computer, and they have an all new format that is extra easy to use if you don’t want to download their Sitebuilder software. They do not do ads on your website, and they pay for your domain for free every year. Plus, you access your website email whenever you log onto your Yahoo email. They are linked which means email access from anywhere.
Check out the link below for a discount on the first couple months.
Hope this helps
