Buying A Domain Name From Current Registrant?

Category: FAQ   Time: 2009-08-16   Tags: , , , , ,

There’s a domain name I’m in negotiations to buy with the current registrant. Once we agree on the price, what’s the appropriate step-by-step process for the transfer of payment and the transfer of the domain name so that all parties are appropriately protected?

    Try escrow.com.
The money goes in there. The domain is transfered with the registrar. Once you have the name, and sign off, the other side gets their money.

this has to be legal and involve paperwork.
youl need to veryfy the domain via verisign, thawte etc just to make sure you getting the right thing.
i suggest you do this via a lawyer for a fee so that its legally binding.
