It depends on the ISP, some may allow you to use a domain with their (often very small) hosting the offer free (usually with your internet account).
Check your ISPs documentation about the web space they offer and it should have some kind of detaisl about using your own domain.
However i would suggest using a “proper” web host, as with many you can get a very reasonable deal, for as little as £2/month you have a good amount of space and features, and a much better control panel interface to use with your website account.
It also means you have a dedicated support team to help and guide you with your site and hosting – your ISP will most defiantly not provide this level of support.

Your ISP is likely not to support the feature as they prefer you to have a hosting service.
I suggest you have a look at http://www.hosting24.com they will register a domain name for free for life and come with unlimited webspace and unlimited data transfer and you can go with them on a monthly basis.
Also when you sign up with them if you enter in a discount code they will give you 25% off their ridiculously cheap hosting plans. code to use is 25OFF
I host all my sites there and have been more than pleased with their help and support which is available by phone support! I hope this helps
    Lou
