That just means that GoDaddy would use a linux server to host your website. It doesn’t matter what OS you’re currently using.
If you are looking to just create a page on a shared hosting server, I would recommend you download the free trial of “Dreamweaver” found here( http://www.photoshopsupport.com/dreamwea… )
If you would like more information on designing a website/ web-page please feel free to create an account on my site ” http://doctormycomputer.com ” the account is free and submit a trouble support ticket to the proper department. Please ensure you include a good phone number, and the best time to reach you. I will give you a cal and discuss with you further your options.
yes, linux is a operating system, you can configure GRUB or LILO to duel boot your os’s ( run windows and a linux flavor at the same time)
its means webhosting im guessing.. you can use appache or lampp is a great program as well. appache is pre installed on some linux systems and dep. on your distro the “www” folder (folder to store web pages you want to host) is located in var/www/ on debian at least (witch is what i am using right now) i think it is in the same place on ubuntu machines as well
Linux is an operating system for experienced users such as programmers.
When they say Hosting Linux. It means there host is running on a linux operating system.
I guess you should take it because linux is an ever growing kernel.
It’s not very easy though
Note: You do not have to install linux, you can keep your computer at it’s current state.
As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. A domain name is a name you want to call your website. To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.
If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.

Yes, Linux is an operating system. You could install it to dual boot with XP. godaddy.com is telling you that they will host your site on a server that runs Linux. You can make a website on any operating system as long as you have a text editor.
It means the server GoDaddy.com is using runs Linux. You won’t have to do anything to your computer. And yes Linux is an Operating System. Type Linux in the Wikipedia search to learn more.
