the first thing you need to figure out is what did you buy from godaddy? the domain only or the domain and hosting????
unlike what the first person said godaddy does offer full services, hosting, web builders, ssl, shopping carts…etc
but if you only bought a domain from them then you need to go back and buy hosting so you can start making your site.
oh and dont listen to David G never buy your hosting and get your domain name free…that is almost always big trouble.
below is part of my answer for another question similiar to this that David G answered also…
NOTE -
one thing I would avoid is what David P suggested below, that is getting a “deal” for your hosting and domain name together. Lots of companies offer you a “free domain” when you buy a hosting plan but be careful. I have seen first hand many customers get locked into plans they cant get out of without forfeiting their domain. These so called deals usually have fine print that require you to only host with them, so you would not be able to change hosting later if any problems come up. I have seen some cases where a hosting company will offer free domains and then 6-12 months later they go out of business and the customer loses their domain name. Also situations where they need to run a service that hosting company doesnt offer and need a new host company but they cant point the domain to a new host cause it was provided “free” and requires them to use only their hosting.
Remember nothing is every “free” and those deals always have cons as well as pros.
And with domains being $8 to $10 a year….pay that little extra and get piece of mind and complete control over the domain name that you paid for.

(no godaddy is a hosting site also.)
first you have to puchase a hosting plan and a domain,
once you do, there is 2 ways to create your homepage, you ca either design it your self and upload to your site, using ftp
or you can use site scripts(like cmss like joomla, or blogs like wordpress or forums and portals like smf,php)
to do this, you have to go to my hosting account(appears on the green bar when you log in)
and click open next to your hosting plan, this will open the hosting control center. Once its opened click on the “GoDaddy hosting connection” link.
further instructions mentioned there but these are the steps you should follow:
select the type of of script(site) you want to use from left.(i assume that you selected blog)
then click on one of the blog scripts.(you may search web for blogs using these scripts and deciede which one u use, best one is wordpress in blogs.)
so click on the wordpress, next page has a button like install now.
further steps are easy you only need to fill a form(you login and password to your blog etc.)

godaddy is just a name purchasing site. It does nothing else. You will then need to go to a website hosting place, like earthlink and then you will be able to upload it so others can see your site. Contact earthlink, they can walk you thru it, I think even godaddy will do it too.
