Friends. i want to open this FTP server. but, not able to do it. it shows request timed out. so anyone try to open this and tell me how to do.

Since your can access other FTP servers, it appears as though there is no blocking on your side of the connection.
This would imply the problem is at the other end. Either the service is down for maintenance or due to a fault or your user name and / or password are incorrect.

If this is your own FTP server, then I would suggest discard this.. because username and passwords are transmitted as clear text on network, easy to hack using basic freely available tools like wireshark etc. best option is to go for SFTP- Secured FTP. where in the data is encrypted.. Even better on a linux server, where the software is free and server is secured. If it is your own dedicated Linux server, then you dont need anything else.. just start SSH and use Winscp to copy / transfer data to the server..

For opening a ftp you need..
FTP host name : probably “web405.ixwebhosting.com” for u
FTP user name:
FTP password :
and FTP port : 21 port by default
