I’ve been trying to get the phpBB SEO (officially supported by phpbb) tool, but no luck with 1and1. But when I try it with lunarpages, it works like a charm. Has anyone had luck with 1and1? I’m using their linux $10/mo. business package.

Write your own htaccess files, and stop using these plugins.
There ain’t really much SEO value in using mod_rewrite, the search engines we care about all support url parameters.
Before you open a website or register a domain with 1and1 Internet, you should be aware:
1and1 Internet has an F rating with the Pennsylvania Better Business Bureau
This is their lowest rating possible
“BBB Rating
Based on BBB files, this business has a BBB Rating of F.
Reasons for this rating include:
• Number of complaints filed against business
• Failure to respond to complaints filed against business
• Number of complaints filed against business that were unresolved
• Overall complaint history with BBB”
I have the same exact issues with 1and1 and url rewrite. i have the same 10$/mth plan. its kinda driving me nuts, im using the most basic generated code from online url rewriting tools found online. ill have to email 1and1 support. let me know if you find a fix, and vice versa.
