Log in to your account with the people you registered your domain name with.
The redirect mail options are there. It’s just a case of enabling it and entering the yahoo address that you use.
Takes 2 mins.
just login to the domain and forward the e-mail to your yahoo account. If you do not have access to the domain then just login to your account and do a auto-forward.
if you only have the domain name, then you are missing a few VITAL ingredients.
you first need to set up a webserver you then need to set up your mail server. I don’ mean yahoo, yahoo is just a mail client when it comes to accessing third party (non yahoo emails).
once you have your mail server set up, then you can point yahoo at your mail server “mail.you.ext” for both your pop3 and smtp and optionally your IMAP (if supported) connections.
freeware mail servers are available. I use a serversuite of programs bundled as one to get my server working.
I suggest hardware not less than a intel p3 or amd sempron 3400 to handle your servers. with a dedicated server drive (capacity your choice in addition to your operating system or boot drive.
if you have already set up your email server then you follow the instructions in yahoo mail to add a new pop 3 or webmail (IMAP) email account. use the username details including your password etc as set up on your server first before attempting to configure yahoo or anyother email client.
once set up both on your server and in yahoo your set.
alternatively you can optionally have all mail forwarded from your account on your server direct to your yahoo email account. how this is done varies from mail server to mail server. so no one person can tell you how to configure the settings without knowing what program you are using.
see http://www.softpedia.com for all the software you need. servers network monitoring etc.
you may decide that setting up your own server is not an option, if so if you use a hosting company you may experiance problems with email capacity, data flow limits total storage capacity for your domain may be restricted to well below 100MB.
it is all down to what you need.
hard to be sure from your statement in your question, you don’t say if you have your website and thus http, ftp and mail servers configured and live.
good luck.
Two ways suggest themselves: Either set up redirection of e-mails via the control panel at your ISP, or, on your website, use the “insert hyperlink” facility in your website creation application to highlight your name, and enter the text:
mailto:information@domainname
in the slot. Works for me. Don’t forget to create a new account for that e-mail address in your e-mail client.
you can’t, because its yahoo. if you could any email you started would be *******@yahoo.
BUT you can configure your email client such as outlook or outlook express to do it.
just follow the instuctions – new account
