So I bought server space and enabled web hosting from Joyent.com, then I bought my domain name that I wanted. So how do I make it so when i type in my domain name it takes me to my website?

Joyent should provide you two DNS for you to link your space with your domain. It should look something like:
e.g. ns.joyent.com
Go to the Domain Manager where you purchase your domain and change the nameserver to whatever DNS Joyent provides.
In the folder www or public_html, there should be a file name “index” where it will be the default page to your website.
