I am using GoDaddy. Everytime I go to kitty-roleplay.com/favicon.ico on Firefox, it just shows the URL. For Explorer, Just a little white box where the image should be.
I have uploaded a favicon.ico, though instead of being an image, its saved as a file.
I have my head tags working great. =]
I just can’t get the favicon to show up! Help!

An icon is more like a file then an image so don’t worry about that.
The favicon should only show up in that little square next to the address bar anyways. As long as you have it stored in the root of your webpage, the browser will pick it up automatically.
If it is showing incorrectly the problem might be that it’s not a valid icon file. You need to create the favicon with a program that specifically makes icon files. Renaming an image to favicon.ico isn’t enough.
Hope that helps.
Favicon MUST conform to the followings:
ANYTHING different, and it will NOT show up.1. It must be designed as an .ico file (you can’t rename favicon.jpg to favicon.ico: won’t work). ie: “iconforge” program
2. It must be exactly 16 x 16 pixels.
3. It must be called “favicon.ico”.
4. It must be located in your root directory (where you have your index)
5. it must be called using
(second time I answer this question I believe)
