I made some changes to php.ini, and I apparently need to restart Apache. I don’t know how to do this. I’ve searched the web, and every article assumes you are the host and you can access the server directly. How do I do this remotely with a goDaddy account?

I don’t think GoDaddy would give you that kind of permissions on their servers. If there is an admin control panel that allowed you to edit the php.ini file, then they should have a Save button or something like that. It may just take some time for the changes to take effect. You can always call their tech support. JR

You can only do this if you have root adminstrative access to the server (and you would administer it remotely using an SSH/telnet client such as PuTTY). If you are on a shared hosting account, you can’t do this, only your host can. You will have to contact them and ask them if they can do so (and they may not, because it could cause other sites that are hosted on your server to be down as well while apache restarts).
If you are on a dedicated server then you may be able to do so, but either way, contact their support and have them assist you!

If you are on a shared hosting plan, you can not restart the server.
If you are on a dedicated plan, then you should have full access through telnet.
