How Does Domain Parking And Domain Forwarding Affect Search Results?

I have several domain names registered through GoDaddy.com
I have a separate hosting company which is hosting the “main” domain website. Now, some of the owned domain names are similar to the “host” domain, and some are not. For example, if my website is “MyExampleSite.com”… several of the domains I own are variations like “MyExampleSites.com” or “My-Example-Site.com” etc. But, I also own domains that are not similar spelling to the main site… like “NotSimilar.com” or “MyName.com”, but I would still like these to get forwarded to “MyExampleSite.com”
Currently, I’m paying a fee to have the similar domain names “parked” on the main site. However, GoDaddy offers a free “domain forwarding” service which I’m using for the non-similar domains. Now, I’m considering just forwarding the similar domains through GoDaddy instead of paying to have them parked by my hosting company.
My concern is this:
How will this affect my search listings in Google?
Because, right now, if a user types in “My-Example-Site.com” into Google Search, some pages from my actual website at http://www.MyExampleSite.com would be at the top of the search results. However; if a user types in “NotSimilar.com” or “MyName.com” into google search, http://www.MyExampleSite.com won’t appear in the search results…
So, is the higher search result ranking because “My-Example-Site.com” is “parked” rather than just “forwarded”? Or, is it simply because “My-Example-Site.com” looks a lot like “MyExampleSite.com” and “MyName.com”?
If I stop parking “My-Example-Site.com” and simply forward it, will pages from http://www.MyExampleSite.com no longer appear at the top of the search results?

This is my understanding of your issue. If I am wrong, I will correct myself.
A hosting company is hosting example.com. Other variations point to example.com. So basically, example.com points an IP address. Those other variations also point to the same IP address. Only one computer is hosting your websites. That is the magic behind this.
    Here is what happens:
Google/Yahoo (whoever) searches your sites as far as the links will take it. So if there is no reference to my-example.com on your site, it wont know to link it. Therefore, the search result will be invalid. To cheat this, here is how…
When someone access my-example-extension.com, put a loading page that says something like…
OOoops, did you mean example.com? Please click here (that magical link for the spidering) or wait while we take you to example.com.
How do you do this if you only have 1 hosting server as your host? Create a CNAME to point to example.com/oopsfolder/. Then your index file will say Oops, did you mean, example.com?
That will get an entry into the search engines. You can then decorate the page with more links too so the spidering will work better. More entries means more ways to see your page, right?
However if you do it this way, you can have an entry for every domain name you own. On that redirector page, create some META tags that says all your domain names.
OH AND ONE MORE THING, godaddy offers a small amount of space for webhosting. So you can create a little site that says please hang on and redirects to the correct page. Dont do the domain forwarding. This way you can forward to the correct domain and do everything I was telling you do to without cramming it on your main hosting site. I have Godaddy as well as backup for my website.
You can also manually submit all your sites to the search engines. :)
