I don’t know a whole lot about computers and programing (very limited)
I’m a little bit familiar with running proboards message boards but i’d like to create a website. I plan on using hostmonster.
They have a website builder / templates
Will that walk me through with little problems ?
Or am I going to struggle with this???
thanks

The easiest way for a novice to build a web site is to start with a web template. Web Templates can be customized and you can use the layout but swap the graphics etc…. this will get you comfortable with basic HTML design and an HTML editor (like Dreamweaver).
Here are some resources for free or inexpensive templates that are easy to edit and manage.
Webmaster Templates – http://www.webmaster-templates.net
Free Web Templates – http://www.freewebtemplates.com/
Web Design Elements – http://www.webdesign-elements.com
Free Website Templates – http://www.freewebsitetemplates.com/
Free Layouts – http://www.freelayouts.com/
Free Templates Online – http://www.freetemplatesonline.com
HTML website templates can significantly ease the burden of designing and creating websites by providing webmasters with a ready-made web layout, structure, basic graphics, and color scheme.
The templates can generally be edited and customized with any HTML editor. The biggest advantage for webmasters using ready-made templates is the amount of time that can be saved.
Hostmonster’s tool will help, but you need to make sure you understand HTML and CSS or it will get frustrating real quick. The advantage you have with Hostmonster is that their technical support and customer service is excellent. Whether or not they’ll help you with the site builder I can’t say as I’ve never required their assistance in that manner. However, you shouldn’t have any problems with learning the basics of HTML and CSS if you hit the tutorials at http://www.w3schools.com and http://www.htmlgoodies.com (HTML Goodies is where I learned HTML way back in “The Day”).
I’ve no doubt that using Hostmonster’s tool and going through a couple of tutorials you’ll do fine. Will you develop and create a top of the line site? Not your first few times, but if you stay patient you’ll get there.
Hope this helps.
Hi. Honestly, I believe the easiest and most user friendly internet site builder is f-r-ee-w-e-b-s-.com (Yahoo answers automatically blocks competitor’s names. remove the dashes) . Of course, it’s free, and after a short setup requiring very little information (your e-mail) it will walk you through every aspect of managing your website. Also, if needed, their help section is extremely helpful and comprehensive. It also involves no coding. Just like your computer, point, click, type. No expenses either. However, if you are making an official site, you can pay $5/ month for your own domain. For example, instead of http://www.f-r-ee-w-e-b-s-.com/ it’s just www. .com

Not very easy, especially if you do not know a lot. I would look into getting professional support. Before that, get a cheap hosting plan and a domain. From there, think of what you want your website to be. Hostmonster is good, but don’t rule out other hosting services. There are many. I personally don’t use Hostmonster.
If you have a program, like adobe dreamweaver, it is VERY simple to make a website because it does the coding for you.
If you’re trying to make one with just html, it’ll be hard.
Find a reputable company from Craigslist and pay for the site to be created.
You’ll spend months/days before you get anything you will remotely like.
Web design is not something you can learn easily.
It’s actually quite easy. If you know HTML and CSS.
They most likely provide some general website builder templates that will walk you through setting it up.
Here’s an example I downloaded at one point in time from a website (so please don’t use it verbatim). You can simply copy everything from “” down to the bottom of this post, and put it in a file on your computer. Then, simply double-click on the file to open it in a browser.
