I mean, what is the reason, is it because they only allow you to register a domain name and not the ftp space etc which is supposed to come with it? What is the reason?

I have friends that have used godaddy and say it is really bad! I use bluehost(.com) and they are great, very cheap 300gig free domain name has php wordpress etc.

.yes because its only the domain name..the space is a separate purchase…they do offer that though really cheap but their servers are really slow..if you get the domain with the space then be careful because you might not be the owner of the dot com you registered and when transferring to a new space and you want to keep the name then you cant cause they own it and not you..thats why you register with go daddy..YOU own the name.then you can have the space anywhere you want and point your dot com name to it wherever you may have it.

its best if you get youre domain name from godaddy then find a server. Some of the package deals register the domain name in the servers name and then when its time for renewal you might not get the same name unless you stay with that server.
