    It depends on the registrar, Some are kind enough to hold it for you, and send you e-mails to remind you, while some just let it go and don’t care. Usually, you are given a 30 day period before the name is up for grabs.

    It really depends on who hold it. Sometimes it takes them forever it seems. Maybe make an offer of use a “backorder” type service to get the name. There are many services that can provide this.
