Hey all,
I have neglected my web page for months and now it seems that my host (hostgator) has expired. i would rather not use them second time around, and would like to go to something more simple like go daddy. Now my main concern is that my domain name is still active, how would i transfer from my expired hostgator account to godaddy or doteasy?
thanks
-tommy

It depends on where you registered your domain name. The steps are going to be:
1) Sign up for a web hosting account at the new host.
2) Login to the registrar where you registered your domain name. If you can’t remember where that was, go here: http://domains.whois.com/domain.php?acti… and input your domain. You should be able to get enough information from the output to locate your registrar’s website.
3) Update the DNS settings, or “name servers,” to whatever the new web host from step 1) tells you to set them to.
4) Upload your files to the new web host and wait about 24 hours for the DNS settings to make their way around the internet.

Okay, so GoldPuma has been around for just over a year, and they’re affiliated with BlueHost. As an experienced webmaster, Dave G recommends “BH web hosting.” I wonder what BH stands for? BlueHost, maybe? Before paying any money to this guy who is clearly posting here to make a profit, you might want to look at this page:http://davidpye.com/
“I have had my site hosted with Bluehost.com since 2003 and it now appears that individual customers do not matter. Bluehost caused me a considerable amount of inconvenience after I paid for my next years hosting and Domain name. And also a credit card payment from me to Bluehost was refused by my bank (the largest in Australia – The National Bank) because they considered Bluehost.com a fraudulent company. I would most strongly urge anyone considering web hosting to keep well clear of this hosting company.”
Dave G sure does like advertising his company, threehosts.com, here on Yahoo Answers:http://tinyurl.com/l8caxohttp://tinyurl.com/nfwcpxhttp://tinyurl.com/n35ax2http://tinyurl.com/m57opo
Beware of people who answer your questions in hopes of making a profit.
Hi,
If you want to transfer to Godaddy, I recommend choose GoldPuma. GoldPuma is parented by Godaddy and offers its products at lower prices. Refer to their website and compare their prices.http://www.goldpuma.com
However as an experienced webmaster I recommend BH web hosting which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.
