I use iweb and hostmonster and I know enough to manage it … put up graphics and files etc. … but there is sooo much I don’t know. I’m not up on any tech lingo or anything but really need to learn. I really would like to buy a book or something that does a really great job at explaining complex stuff to simple people. : )

Web design for dummies. It will be your best friend
Your best bet is to look at as many church websites as you can. That’s what we did when we were setting up ours at church. Some are very simple. Some have many links and photos…you can pick and choose from what you see online already. Good luck to you.
you don’t need a book … just find your local nerd to help you … or you can look to god for guidance, since it is a church website
The Bible is the best book for you.
(Seriously though, try HTML for dummies or something)
As regards content, look at how to make it outsider friendly:

An easy option is the CMS template systems. There’s a review list of these systems at

You can also have your own CMS system, such as WordPress, which a lot of people use for church sites.
