it runs fine the only problem is when i get on certain websites i get directed to godaddy.com i know i have malware but when i run programs to detect it, it finds nothing. i have run macscan & clamxav. i just got the computer a week ago, so i really have not put anything important on here so i was thinking of just restarting the whole thing and deleting everything off of it…how would i completely start over and reinstall mac osx to the way it was when i got it from the factory. or is there anything else you can suggest for me to do to fix this. it is a small thing but it is driving me insane. i’m new to macs so this is all really new for me.

You don’t have a virus but you probably have a link to godaddy.com in your web cache which is redirecting you. In Safari go to Safari>empty cache
You can also clear your brower history also go to preferences>show cookies>clear cookies.
I had the same thing happen a while back on my iMac.
Unlike Windows you don’t have to do a re install to clear a problem with your Mac – normally it is just a case of going to Disk Utility and repairing permissions or finding out which is the offending or corrupt file and deleting it.
Macs were designed for people who just like to get stuff done – not people who want to spend their day under the hood trying to get stuff started.
