I Need A Business Website But I Already Have A Paid Domain Name, Can You Help?

Category: FAQ   Time: 2009-09-12   Tags: , , , , , , , ,

My boss has asked me to organise a website for our company but they have already purchased a domain name.
Is their any good companies or programs that will allow you to use your own domain.

Every hosting company will allow you to use your own domain.
I recommend one of these: http://www.webhostingtable.com/
Powweb has the best offer right now, they have a limited time sale, hosting for $4.88/month ($58.56/year).
Their hosting plan includes web builder, so you can create your site just by drag and drop (without any programming), or you could install Wordpress (easy, one click install from their control panel), choose a theme that you like, and start adding content.

Tell your boss that the cheapest way to do it is to hire a web developer. Creating a business site isn’t the same as writing a business letter. (If you do a few things wrong, the company could find itself on the wrong end of a HUGE law suit – say the site was hacked and someone got all your customer’s credit card info.) Writing your own business site is like representing yourself legally – cheap entry price, but the eventual payments will put the company out of business.
As far as hosting, Most large hosting companies start shared hosting at under $5/month. That should be enough hosting for most sites.

You will need hosting as well as a domain name you may be able to point the the domain to your webhost if you have DNS control if you don’t you should transfer it to a registrar where you do.
normally you only pay for a years domain registaration which is added to what you have so if you have 18 months registration they add another 12, no charge for tranfer.
Hosting will be about £3.99 a month.
Depending on what type of site you want:
Will it have products that are updated by a database or is it just a basic corporate website.
Joomla or wordpress will cater for most types of sites you have a admin panel to add content via a wysiwyg editor or you can add html if you know how these can both be installed very easily if you choose the right host. http://3website.co.uk will install wordpress for you free if you use there hosting service

Yes, all web hosts allow you to use your existing domains. Some of them offer free domains in their packages, besides you are allowed to use your existing domain.
It is very important that your service be uptime. It means that you can access your account whenever you want to update your web pages, and your visitors can view your website whenever they type your website address. If your hosting service is not uptime it is real hell!
    Take a look at: http://www.threehosts.com/business
There you can reach the three reputable companies that are leaders in the business web hosting industry. You can use one of them to get your company’s website online.
    Good Luck!

Most reputable companies will. I personally use 1&1, they will let you. You have to get it released from whoever you bought it from though, usually involves getting a code.
