Hosting does not need to be mac compatible, as long you can ftp files to your web host. You can find step by step guide on how to create a website at website like http://oktutorial.com/webdesign.htm .

As long as your web site is conform to W3C standard, you can view your site from any computer (windows, mac, linux, etc.).
The domain registration and hosting themselves don’t influence the compatibility. For domain registration, I’d suggest godaddy and moniker. If you want cheapest price, go to name.com.
For hosting plans, I’d suggest Hostgator, bluehost, hostican, for more choice, go to http://hostingmatrix.org
So, the most important thing is make your web pages standard, you can validate your pages at http://validator.w3.org/
