You cannot sell most kinds of domain names (com/net/org etc) during the first 60 days after registration because there is a rule forbidding such transfers. You may be able to get the sale set up during that 60 days and THEN transfer it, but for the first 60 days of registration the domain name cannot be transferred to anyone for any reason. More information on domain transfer policies can be found on the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers website at http://www.icann.org
You can use any other domain registrar. you don’t need to use 1&1. the only thing you need to do if you want to sell it through sedo is point your name servers to sedo’s name servers. Once you sign up with sedo they will tell you how to change your name servers
