I Want To Keep Domain But Don’t Want To Pay $45/yr.?

Category: FAQ   Time: 2009-12-18   Tags: , , , ,

I have a wedding website through theweddingtracker.com that will expire next wk. I’d like to keep it for future family pics, etc. They said renewal is $45. I am seeing deals online at godaddy.com for $7. Is this legit? If I transfer to godaddy, will I lose all the content on the site since I used theweddingtracker.com’s online template to make it? Thanks!

    Nope.
registering and hosting are two different things..
If you want to be hosted by godaddy.com. You will be able to tansfer the site to them…
THe webcode is in HTML or Perl or PHP or asp.
even though you made it with a specific app, you can transfer it to any server / hosting company you want.

godaddy is legit but they clutter your site with ads, if you want your site without having to pay for a web server, talk to a tech savy person about setting up your own. It can be any computer with a reliable uptime and capable of running web server software. — though you will still have to pay for the actual domain name, but not the server
