I’m Interested In Starting A Website, Which Host Should I Use?

Category: FAQ   Time: 2009-07-08   Tags: , , , , ,

Hello.
I am interested in a website and was wondering which host I should use? I was thinking about using either Yahoo Small Business or hostmonster.com but, both want me to enter a business name and the website I want to create is not a business. It’s just going to be a basic site similar to blogs, I just want a little more design options, and preferably a blank work space. Would anyone know or prefer any other website host? Or is it O.K. to use either Yahoo Small Business or hostmonster.com as the website host without it actually having to be a business, even though Yahoo Small Business has Business in the title.
Thank you.

To make a website you need a domain and webhosting. The best way to buy a domain for free is to purchase your domain and webhosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some webhosting companies offer this as a gift .Bluehost is the best onehttp://www.bluehost.com/track/bluehostwe…

Recommend you try Microsoft Office Live Small Business, a free service where you can get a free website – http://snipurl.com/3803z . It has a free design tool that allows you to create web pages without coding. It has no ads and has 500mb of web space. MS is giving a free domain name for the 1st year. Do not worry about being a business or not – they welcome everybody and works great for personal or club sites.

Personally if you intend to use it for blogging I would look into typepad. You can have complete control over the look of the site as you can directly edit the css and html properties. For a direct and open website hosting service I’ve always used and had great service from ipower.com. Hope that helps.

I would recommend using hostmonster.com over yahoo small business if it isnt a Business website and is a personal site. Sorry yahoo. But you would be able to install a blog easily on these webhosts.
    Lunarpages.com
    Godaddy.com
    Netfirms.com

Go to freewebs.com, but get a domain name from .co.nr. =D
