I recommend you check out Office Live Small Business from Microsoft for hosting. It also lets people make their own websites, and since it is template based, you do not need to know any web page coding languages. The service is easy to use and extremely affordable. There is a gallery on the homepage with examples and case studies of business who have used Office Live Small Business to get their website going.

I agree with blueD- Office Live Small Business is definitely worth taking a look at. One quick note though, the free domain deal is no longer active but you can register, host, and build your website for $15/year. This gets you access to all the tools you need to make a professional website like a shopping cart and up to 100 email address that match your domain name. I would recommend using hostmonster.com over yahoo small business if it isnt a Business website and is a personal site. Sorry yahoo. But you would be able to install a blog easily on these webhosts.

Personally if you intend to use it for blogging I would look into typepad. You can have complete control over the look of the site as you can directly edit the css and html properties. For a direct and open website hosting service I’ve always used and had great service from ipower.com. Hope that helps.

Recommend you try Microsoft Office Live Small Business, a free service where you can get a free website – http://snipurl.com/3803z . It has a free design tool that allows you to create web pages without coding. It has no ads and has 500mb of web space. MS is giving a free domain name for the 1st year. Do not worry about being a business or not – they welcome everybody and works great for personal or club sites.
