Always better to go with a domain registrar rather than a hosting company.
This gives you full control over your domain and with that the freedom to move away from one hosting provider to another whenever you need to.

well i would recommend that you get it from them, for the simple reason that they will allow you some default settings and using domains and hosting from the same company usually means a lot less troubles from the tech department.
