Joomla Website Chmod 777?

Category: FAQ   Time: 2010-01-03   Tags: , ,

Hi,
I recently changed servers & installed joomla. The problem I have is that unless I chmod certain folders I get tons of errors… I was using godaddy before & diod not have to bother with this at all.
My question is which folders should I chmod 777? What should the others be set to? Can anyone tamper with my site if I leave them all 777?
Any advise would be grateful! Thanks.

Your site will be open and exposed to everyone who wants to harm it. Joomla is crap.

777 is giving God power to anyone who has TCP/IP running.
maybe if you change owner to joomla instead.
