Must I Buy A Domain With Godaddy If I Sign Up For Hosting With Them?

Category: FAQ   Time: 2009-07-01   Tags: , , , , , ,

i already own 6 domains over at 1and1. I am thinking about purchasing either their economy or deluxe hosting. In the hosting description it says that I can use external domains. Thats wonderful. However, must I purchase a domain for $1.99? I just want hosting from dodaddy and no domains. Is this possible with either the economy or the deluxe plan?

GoDaddy will sell you just Web hosting. No need to purchase your domain names through them.
Check the FAQ for Linux Web hosting which will explain how to point your 1and1 domains on GoDaddy’s servers.

You don’t have to purchase a domain through them, but if you buy one somewhere else you may have to wait 45 days to transfer it to godaddy if they are hosting. I recommend buying the domain from the host site.
In your case, if you’ve had the 6 domains for mare than 45 days they should be transferable.
Maybe try http://www.hostgator.com they will transfer your domains pretty easy.

If you’re looking for the best service on the web, take a look at: http://bluehost-service.atspace.com . As an experienced webmaster I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them. Their service is really great and easy to use.
You can register a domain name for free with them or get your existing domains hosted by them. They support multiple domain names.

As everyone has said, you can use whichever domains you own to be hosted by GoDaddy. If you want to save some money on I have GoDaddy discount codes that will help you save quite a bit on your purchase. I’ll leave the link.
