If I buy a godaddy domain to use as a classroom/education webpage, will it be accessible in the school? Some sites are blocked in the school, such as webpages created from freewebs.com. If I have my own domain, will it blocked too?
Where can I create a webpage for my students that isn’t going to be blocked?
Thanks!!!

You shouldn’t find that a domain hosted on GoDaddy.com’s servers is automatically blocked by a school Web filter.
Freewebs and the like are blocked because of the content they generally carry. In other words, the fact that kids put crap on Freewebs is what got Freewebs a general block by your school’s firewall.
Since you haven’t done anything with your domain name, it won’t be blocked.
However, certain words, terms or page names you may use — such as MySpace, Facebook, webkinz, etc., may lead to your school’s firewall software automatically blocking your site.
If so, simply speak to your school’s IT guy — he can configure the firewall to unblock any site he wants unblocked.
Well first of all, the blocking of web pages is based on existing domain names. Your new domain would not be on any lists, good or bad.
Secondly, whatever system your school is using is surely customizable. Whoever is in charge should be consulted should the website ever get blocked.
Go for it, it will work fine.
