I want to secure my domain in hostmonster, the base domain, I know that you can’t secure add on domains. Can I buy a certificate from say like Godaddy, and secure the base domain? Thank you.

Then buy the certificate… agree to the signing e-mails from startech or whoever it will come from.
You will be able to use just yourdomain.com unless you buy a wildcard which are expensive to do anything.yourdomain.com
