Web-based File Upload Manager For Linux?

Category: FAQ   Time: 2010-01-15   Tags: , , , ,

I have a client who wants her clients to upload files to a specific directory at GoDaddy (where she’s hosting her site). The files are up to 1 GB in size. Does anyone know of a simple script that I can install to do this? My form-based upload isn’t working for that size of a file, and I don’t know if it’s possible or not with a script. GoDaddy won’t support the FTP that the client needs (she doesn’t want clients to see the files that others uploaded). Any ideas are appreciated.
I’ve looked at sites like HotScripts.com, but I’m really looking for a recommendation of the script or software, not pointing me to places to try to find one.
Thanks!

this is a classic cgi question! you should find lots of programs… since you already have a program, I suggest you try to fix it… does it do everything itself or does it use a library. is it perl or php?
1 gig is not very big… but it’s possible that godaddy is limiting the size!
is the client a non-profit?? if so I can give you the name of a great service for like-minded non-profits! free web hosting!! But I am reluctant to post their name on here.
