Iv got an idea for a simple website, with just some writing and pictures. Im thinking of going godaddy with 250gig traffic. Once i get more clicks and want to add more media, like movies, could i change hosts and keep my name and everything?

GoDaddy isn’t really worth it for hosting, check out any of the reviews on the site in my sources.
You can easily change hosts after GoDaddy though, you just need to back up all your files, get new hosting, then upload them all to the new host and then update the NameServers in your Godaddy account. I suggest checking out the site I’ve sourced though, there are a lot of cheap hosts that provide a lot more bandwidth than that.
You can change hosts any time you want without losing anything. (Always keep a full backlup of the entire site locally. I have one on for my personal site one of my desktops AND on a flash drive.) Don’t get your domain name from your web host – use one registrar for the domain name and another one (most hosting companies are registrars) for your host.
I’ve been using GoDaddy for my personal site years and have no complaints.
