You need to have a YAHOO PLUS account to configure yahoo in outlook…..
Make sure that, you have saved all the settings in yahoo. Once you login you can find SETTINGS towards the top right corner. Click on SETTINGS —> POP ACCESS & FORWARDING —> Make sure that the radio button for WEB & POP ACCESS is checked.
    Open Outlook 2003
E-mail Accounts – Select the server as POP –
    Give the following details
    Incoming Mail Server (POP3): in.pop.mail.yahoo.com
    Use SSL, port: 995
    Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): in.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication
Account Name/Username: Your Yahoo Mail ID
Email address: Your Yahoo Mail ID
    Password: Your Yahoo! Mail password
Once you have entered everything, then click on TEST ACCOUNT SETTINGS.
If you have confirgured everything correctly, then you will receive a test mail.
Hope this might solve your problem.http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/or…

In order to use a separate email program, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, or Thunderbird, with Yahoo Mail you need POP3. It is also needed when using any program or right clicking on a file to directly send email. It is free in the UK, AU, and NZ but in the US you must pay for Yahoo Mail Plus. It is also required when you try to transfer the mail using smtp or pop3 to another online email. When you do you can set the servers as follows:
    Incoming (pop3)
    US – plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com SSL 995
    UK – pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk SSL 995
    AU and NZ – pop.mail.yahoo.com.au SSL 995
    Outgoing (smtp)
    US – plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com 465 TLS
    UK – smpt.mail.yahoo.co.uk SSL 465 TLS
AU and NZ – smpt.mail.yahoo.com.au SSL 465 TLS
NOTE: The same servers are used for ymail and rocketmail. Use the entire email address as the Yahoo ID.
You can also look at the program Ypops. I have no recommendation for or against.
