When looking for a host there are a few major point of options you must choose from, the cheap hosting is never a way to go.
When you need hosting, you need to choose a host that uses cPanel, and theres no other alternative thats going to sastisfy you more.
Another option is WHM (another project by the cPanel company).
It's called Web Host Manager, its basically giving YOU access to host OTHER websites for your own purposes.
WHM is typically more expensive.. the less expensive you find online, the crappier the hosting is going to be.
I currently have a membership with ResellerZoom, using there WHM package. There stable 98% of the time (i have a down issue every blue moon). But one major fault I find with them is that there WHM/Cpanel access is rather slow to use, making things more time consuming, but not entirely horrible.
The package runs me about 10$? a month.. and I'm happy because I'm getting more than a bang for my buck.
BlueHost doesnt have cpanel/whm
Hostmonster doesnt have cpanel/whm
Lunarpages - down currently
Hostingpad - has cpanel
If anything.. the cheapest and most efficent I've found online, period, is resellerzoom.
That or get your own webserver w/ cpanel/whm installed.
www.getavps.com is a good place. A full (stable server there the fastest virtual servers ive ever seen) with WHM will cost between 35-40$.
And you have the functionality of SSH and using the server for other purposes too.
Whatever suits your fancy, hope this helps.

We've used several of these -and I can't say I'd recommend any of them. Hostgator.com is probably one of the better cheap hosts -we had good experiences with them, and they scored well when we ran server tests. If you're just building one site, and want a host at around $7 a month, hostgator would be your best bet (in my opinion).
Mediatemple.com is what we use, and they're far better then any host we've ever used. They're a bit more expensive than the ones you listed, but worth it for a design firm.
One thing to remember, is that although they all say "unlimited" this and that, you won't necessarily get that. If your site grows large enough, what you'll end up paying for is CPU usage (which you'll notice none of the hosts advertise). They all boast "unlimited" this and that, because you'll probably never top out on that stuff before you reach your CPU usage limits. And that's where they start charging extra.
It's not something to consider unless you're building a community type site -if you're building a typical static informational site, you'll likely never hear about these kinds of things. All of the hosts you listed offer far more then you'll probably ever use.(but info never hurts).
