When you register a domain name, you will no doubt want to protect your personal information from showing up on the WHOIS database. Therefore, register a domain name from a registrar that provides a privacy option for free.
The cheapest and yet trustworthy domain registrar that provides such a service is Name.com ( http://name.com ). Registration for a .com is below $6.

    Hello
You can get a .info domain just under $2 a year and .com or .net domain costs more than $7. All the standard domain providers provide domain at these rates like godaddy.com . Always opt for a good brand when you buy your domain or hosting.
If you are looking for a FREE DOMAIN NAME you can get some thing like wwww.you.co.cc at http://www.domainzero.co.cc
    with DNS,CName,MX and URL fwding
can be used with blogger, wordpress,Google Apps and lots more ( create email like you@you.co.cc )

i’d say go daddy for registering domain names they’re fairly cheap (6.95) but generally most sites domain names run 10-20 dollars per year – - just make sure if you plan to actually build the website you host it somewhere with decent credibility (lunar pages ect not go daddy)

Go Daddy is probably the cheapest reliable domain name registrar.
    Try http://rmbdomains.com/affiliates
There you will be able to compare most of the main domain name registrars.

I recommend you check out Office Live Small Business from Microsoft. Remember that you get what you pay for with completely free services–lots of other people’s ads on your site. Small Business Websites are ad free and very, very inexpensive. They let people make their own websites, and since it is template based, you do not need to know any web page coding languages. The service is easy to use and extremely affordable. There is a gallery on the homepage with examples and case studies of business who have used Office Live Small Business to get their website going.
    Cheers,
