The best domain registrar is JordanSoft, http://www.JordanSoft.com, it is a Wild West Domain reseller similar to GoDaddy.
Why I think they are the best?
1. They are cheap. Compare for yourself (Prices from official websites on 5/8/2009):
.COM: $9.99/year on GoDaddy, $7.99/year on http://www.JordanSoft.com; $34.99 on NetworkSolutions
.NET: $12.99/year on GoDaddy, $6.49/year on http://www.JordanSoft.com; $34.99 on NetworkSolutions
.ORG: $14.99/year on GoDaddy, $7.99/year on http://www.JordanSoft.com; $34.99 on NetworkSolutions
2. You will have everything you need to get started online for FREE with every domain:
. Free Personalized E-Mail Account: Free Fraud, spam and virus protected email that includes 1 GB of total storage
. Free Ad-Supported Hosting: Reliable and backed by 24/7 support, includes 10 GB of Disk Space, 150 GB of Transfer, Windows or Linux, FTP Access, and much more.
. Free Photo Album: share and store your photos right from your domain name, with your own personal online photo album.
. Domain Forwarding/Masking
At the moment I would recommend Godaddy and Moniker.
Moniker provides some of the markets quickest service response times and have the most secure registrar interface available. Furthermore they are very flexible on their pricing scheme, especially if you are a member of the DNforum.
Godaddy on the other hand excel at promos and voucher offers. This can significantly lower your overhead if you are a domain investor. Their customer service is rubbish and you have to go through 7 pages of spam offers to buy a domain though. So be warned.
If pricing is a concern for you a good strategy is to monitor the various registrars special transfer promotions. Often you can get a transfer at 30-40% less of your standard renewal cost.
If security is your main concern (or just a little concern) you should go with moniker. Not only is their system the safest. They also have hour to hour service response times and take security matters with the proper air of seriousness that they warrant. Moniker is definitely my overall winner
well I have a .com domain name for my business website and its registered with this Irish company http://www.novara.ie/
I live in Ireland so I guess they were the first ones that popped up when I searched? Its been 4 years since I acquired my domain name so I can’t really remember if there were other choices?
There are tons of options available but if you ask me
Name.com
Namecheap.com
Godaddy.com
All the above are
Cheap
Reliable
Friendly
Secure
The best in the market
