What’s The Best Web Host?

Category: FAQ   Time: 2009-07-16   Tags: , ,

I want to start a personal blog, as well as put up a site for my church youth group. I’ve been recommended Proud Domains, BlueHost, and Host Monster. What host do YOU use, and why? What do you recommend?

Doesn’t sound like you’re going to need a domain name or professional marketing or anything like that.
I just found a free web host yesterday that I really like… free as in REALLY free, no advertisements or anything. You can set it up with software so you don’t kneed to design a web from scratch. Personally I like Drupal. Joomla and WordPress are two other popular ones. All free.
Anyway I put together a review of their hosting service (and adding little details as I get my own free account set to go). Have a peek here…http://www.hesitantrhino.com/free-web-ho…
But for “pro” web hosting, I like HostGator, combined with GoDaddy to register the domain name. Keeping those two functions separate is always a good idea. I’ve put together some of the less-obvious features to look for in web hosting (it’s not all about bandwidth and drive space) and why I like the two above companies, here…http://www.hesitantrhino.com/build-your-…
Finally, Drupal is the content management system I used to design the site for MY church. Feel free to have a look around… the discussion group and blog and calendar features might be especially useful for a youth group….http://www.TorranceChurch.org

For a blog, use blogger which is now owned by google, which is great because google then indexes it. For a website, the best may be bravehost.com, But, this has adds. For without ads, which would be good for a church group (who doesn’t want “hit gorge bush for a free Ipod” beside a picture of your church) would be freehostia.com (only if it’s basics becuase it doesn’t allow large files upload) or x10hosting.com (far by the best, must be skilled in website building, not for complete beginers)
    Freehostia and x10hosting.com offer:
    -FTP
    -i believe over 100mb
    -Unlimited Bandwidth
    -Unlimited Bandwidth

I can recommend http://www.startlogic.ca I’ve used them for nearly 3 years and hosted about 20 websites with them. Price is $5.95/ month and they offer toll free support (1-800) which is a must, and a 30 day moneyback guarantee. You can also have up to 50 separate websites per account which means you can have your youth group and blog on the same account.
You can also try http://www.easier-hosting.com they offer some good hosting reviews. Just email me if you have any questions.

There are many good hosting providers like bluehost, ipower, hostmonster etc…
But we have been using Omnis web hosting and we are satisfied with them.
They offer 300 GB webspace, 3000 GB bandwidth and multiple domain web hosting. They are also giving away free domains to new customers.
Check their features at their site.

I think they are more or less same, I mean bluehost and hostmonster.
If you look for web hosting, don’t rush into it. Read reviews about web hosting and decide properly before going ahead with web hosting.
I personally will recommend you a web hosting which many people find it very reliable. It is hostmonster.
Before deciding to sign up hostmonster, read the reviews and stats about hostmonster at the following website.http://www.hostmonsterreview.co.uk

    I recommend Hostgator.
I have used Hostgator as my web host for over two years now and have been very very impressed with them.
Firstly they’re very cheap but still give me more web hosting space and bandwidth than I’ll ever need, the ability to host unlimited websites, a 99.9% uptime guarantee and great customer support.

    Hi,
Why Not look At ZaxiHosting Plans?http://www.zaxihosting.com
Shared Hosting Starting At around 3$.
    Cpanel/Fantastico Included too.
They have great uptime and all day available support.
I have a reseller account there and I’m very satisfy

From my experience browsing around other people website and web hosting review site I put a list of top web hosts that are affordable and have the least complain from clients. but these companies sell different packages. so you need to figure out what you want for a long term maybe for 2 years and pick the host that provide that needs and the cheapest. hope that helps a bit.http://www.trackthosehits.com/control/re…

For a blog, especially if you don’t plan to use it for profit (ads), having your own domain and website might be overkill. Try Blogger or even Yahoo 360…http://blogger.comhttp://360.yahoo.com
Alternately, for more control over your own blog, look at WordPress…http://wordpress.com
For something interactive where other members can participate, a Yahoo Group might be good enough…http://groups.yahoo.com

Hostmonster will be my recommendation as I am using them.
If you are serious about websites either for personal or your business, don’t go to free web hosting as they are usually not reliable and you may end up losing all your hard work. Free web hosts usually put advertisements on your websites and it could be annoying.
    Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukend…
They offer hosting of “unlimited domains” and you will get massive webspace of 1200000 MB (1200 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer “a free Domain Name” and installing service called “Fantastico”. By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer “Free Website Builder” as well.
Visit the site to check details.

I use Bluehost, though I also recommend startlogic and midphase.

  12. webmaste(2009-07-18):

Bluehost is not bad, though the loading time wasn’t on par with my websites on Hostgator. So I would recommend Hostgator if you want a stable and fast web hosting service.
