When I Register A New Domain Name Do I Need To Get It Certified?

Category: FAQ   Time: 2009-10-30   Tags: , , , , ,

Godaddy.com offers a “certification seal.” What exactly is that and do I really need it? Does that mean other people can steal my URL or my idea if I don’t pay for certification? I mean, what is the difference if I do or don’t get it? Thank you!

Have you ever been to a website that says something like “Hacker Safe, last tested *the date*” Usually in a little box? Or sometimes it’s an image of a lock. If you’ve seen this, that’s what the certificate states.
You don’t need it, honostly, it’s a way for them to get more money. But, it is true that some people will look for that seal if you’re running an e-commerce website. Basically, it’s a hacker safe symbol. No matter what, godaddy.com will offer security with their service, I suppose that it’s just added on.
No, people cannot steal your URL.
    I hope this helps. =)
