Godaddy and 1an1 are good places for registering domain names, not web hosting services. Any bad web hosting service would trouble you for a long period. It is very important that your service be uptime. It means that you can access your account whenever you want to update your web pages, and your visitors can view your website whenever they type your website address. If your hosting service is not uptime it is real hell! At first, try to choose a reliable service to get rid of the subsequent problems. I am using hostmonster webhosting for minehttp://www.hostmonster.com/track/hostmon…
Try this: A small Orange (ASO)
Yes, thats its name! Go to http://www.asmallorange.com
I don’t use it, but testimony from someone said it was good.
I use Webhostingbuzz, and there is Dreamhost ,which are generally ok too. But what could be cooler than a hosting called ASO?
p.s. I don’t get paid to recommend any website.
p.p.s Those ‘webhosting reviews’ on the web are sham, so stay away!
p.p.p.s. I have some spare capacity on my hosting account. I’d be willing to share for a small token should it be for PERSONAL site, and not for some hideous/right-abusing cause or spam. You’ll still have to buy a domain tho.
If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.
As an experienced webmaster I recommend BlueHost service which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.
You can see their Plan Details accompanied with reliable reviews regarding their service at:http://www.threehosts.com/reviews/1st
Here I have copied and pasted its features from their website to view:

They also offer “Free Site Builder” that helps you build your web pages without difficulty if you are not skilled in using any website creating program. (WYSIWYG: What You See Is What You Get)

godaddy is the most popular one. And they have a commercial with a really hot bod, which has aboslutely no relation to website, but for some reason it makes them more trusthworthy. hMMMMM>
I would say go daddy if you are looking for a domain name. for a webhost i would pick starlogic. But overall i do not know what to tell you.
I bought my domain name through GoDaddy but host it through Total Choice Hosting. It depends on what you are looking for in a hosting package.
You can check review of top ten web hosts at website like http://aplis.net/ .
