GoDaddy is great but you may want to check out HostGator or 1and1. They are both very good hosts with awesome customer service.
1&1 has services starting at $3 a month and $5.99 domain names.
HostGator starts at $6.95 a month.

free hosts are cool to start with, but they are often very slow and buggy.
what are your hosting requirements??? you dont really need a host offering you 300 gb space and 3000 bandwidth when you are only using 1/10th of it. these big hosting companies oversell a lot (they sell more space and bandwidth resources, than they have). so if you really reach 3/4 of your limits they will send you some mails asking you to stop using that much, but they will its “massive cpu usage”.
its very hard to find the right hosting company. i think that bluehost is not that good as bluehost. but there are better.
i would recommend hostgator (take a look an overview about them here: http://www.hostingtops.com/affordable-ho... ), because its the biggest hosting company and offers the best support and server speed for 10 bucks a month (payable through paypal).
but if you want to compare the tops of the hosting industry, take a look at these top affordable webhosting providers (a list: http://www.hostingtops.com/affordable-bu... ) and than you might know more and can choose the host that suits your needs.
thats what i have learned so far.
