Who own’s the internet? I dont understand how godaddy.com can sell domain names and such. It makes no sence to me. If anyone could he explain who runs the website that is aloud to sell websites and who gets the cash? How do you get a job like that? how does that happen haha? anyone?

I own it and now I want my money for you using it!! just kidding, the internet is basically just web server computers that provide content, easily put anyways. Sites like godaddy.com are just registrars that offer domain registration and web server hosting on there servers. Anyone can do that line of work but to be honest, you need a bit of money up front to start your own as you need the servers and dedicated internet service to provide good services. Otherwise, you can actually become a reseller of godaddy and use there servers.

Hi, no one owns the internet. The internet is a group of large networks. Network such as Yahoo, MSN, and google. The transferring of data between these networks is done by satellites. These satellites are controlled by NASA. So all these companies networks transfer information to each other through NASA’s help. ISP’s offer to connect u to their computer which in turns communicates with the NASA satellite and allows u to visit and use other networks. Its a long stroy but in simple terms the internet is a group of networks. Hope I helped.

No one owns the Internet.
Consider the Internet to be like the Universe. And we’ve inhabitatated Earth and exploring other realms of the universe.
And in the earth there are real estate agents (godaddy.com) tha sell/buy estates (consider domain names as addresses) etc.
That’s pretty much how I see it.

The internet isnt owned by one person, it was an invention and when something is invented campanies or individuals take the idea and try to make some money out of it! That’s how anything new begins. T.V for instance, would have been invented by someone, and then companies would have decided to make them and sell them.
With the internet, it’s mostly phone companies that would have originally gone for the internet, and because the internet is so popular there are now thousands of companies who sell the internet to people. When you buy the internet you pay the company to connect it for you and they make money! Various companies offer deals and so forth to try and make it look more appealing. Some buy fast connections such as broadband so that they can offer their customers more or to keep up with the competitive market.
