Also, after FTP, do I have to unzip files before I put them in my sites plugin directory, or can I just drop and drag the folder? Thanks.

  1. Colanth(2009-06-26):

Unless you have a shell account (so you can run an unzip program on the host computer) you have to unzip before you FTP.

Not familiar with that hosts servers, or the need to manually upload plugins for Wordpress, but generally you unzip files before uploading them to your server.
On our servers, our free Wordpress is installed with just ‘one click’.
    Hope this in someway helps.
